Bike trails for people with one gear
You don’t need lycra, suspension or a personality change. Flat trails and rail paths make cycling a pleasure at any fitness.
Somewhere along the way, cycling got rebranded as a sport, and everyone with a perfectly good bike in the garage quietly resigned. The flat trail is the counter-argument: riverside paths, rail trails and waterfront loops where the only objective is being outside faster than walking allows.
The one-gear philosophy
Pick a trail with no meaningful hills, pack food, and set the turnaround point at a café or a swimming spot rather than a distance. The ride should have a destination, not a training goal. Two hours of that beats any gym session you were never going to do anyway.
Flat trails and easy loops, mapped near you.
